What are odds?

Odds are the reflection of a chance or probability of a certain outcome in an event. In any event, every outcome has a chance or likelihood of taking place. Odds are an interpretation of those chances. Bookmakers offer odds or prices to reflect those chances. The odds show how many units you win in terms of winning per unit staked.

What are decimal odds (e.g. 2.5)?

Decimal odds are also known as European odds. To convert a probability into decimal odds just take the probability as a percentage and divide into 100. E.g. if you think something has a 40% chance of winning then 100/40 = 2.5.

Let's say that you place a bet on an event where the decimal odd is 2.5. If you win, for every R1 you stake you will receive R2.5 back. Stake R10 and you will receive R25 back. Decimal odds multiplied by your stake amount equals the payout. Odds show how many units a bookmaker pays out per unit staked.

What are fractional odds (e.g. 4/1)?

This is a more traditional odds type and is often used in the UK. E.g. if you place a bet on an event which has odds of 4/1 for every R1 you stake you will win R4 and you will receive your R1 stake back, giving you a total return of R5. If you place a R10 bet at 4/1 you will win R40 and have your R10 stake returned, giving you a total of R50 return. Fractional odds multiplied with your stake equals your winnings.

Do odds differ if betting is done before the match or during the match (Live In-Play)?

Yes, the odds will differ and adjust as the game progresses. If you have a bet on your betting slip and the price has changed since you added it to your betting slip but have not submitted it for payment the new price will be displayed and you can select to take the new price or reject it once you submit for payment.

Why do odds differ on different sites?

Different bookmakers have different opinions on event outcomes. At ClickaBet we are confident you will receive extremely competitive odds.

What is betting on Lucky Numbers/Lotto?

Lucky Numbers bets are based on the numbers that are drawn from the respective lottery. It is not playing the actual lottery to win your share of the various pools, but instead it is betting on the actual results at a fixed price per number on offer by ClickaBet.

What types of bets are there?

At ClickaBet, you can choose between three different types of bets. A single bet (one pick), multiple bet (two or more picks) and a system bet (three or more picks).

What is a Single Bet?

This type of bet is the simplest form of betting. You predict the outcome, specify your stake amount and place the bet. If your prediction is correct, you win the bet. Your winnings are calculated by multiplying the odds by the stake.

What is a Multiple or Accumulator Bet?

A multiple bet is a single bet (pick) that links together more than one bet and is dependent on all the bets winning to gain a profit. The total odds are calculated by multiplying the odds of all the individual picks. The multiple bet does not pay out anything unless all your picks turn out to be correct.

What are System Bets?

As soon as you entered at least three picks on a betting slip, you can place a system bet. To do that, scroll down on the betting slip until you see the System Bets section. The number of possible system bets depends on the number of predicted outcomes. The system bets possible on your picks are displayed automatically. The main difference between a system bet and multiple bet is that you can win a system bet even if not all your picks are correct. Because of the numerous possible outcomes on a system bet we don't display the possible winnings on the betting slip.
